ComNet CWPOEIPS-15 is a low-cost power overEthernet (PoE) midspan injection module that injects48 VDC at 0.3 amperes to the unused pairs of anyUTP or STP CAT-3, CAT-4, or CAT-5 network cable.Operating power and 10/100TX Ethernet data areeasily combined on one cable, eliminating the need toinstall additional power outlets and electrical cabling.Housed in a compact, rugged, light-weight package,and utilizing a completely self-contained 100 to 240VAC input power supply, the CWPOEIPS is fullycompliant w ith the requirements of IEEE 802.3af forPower Sourcing Equipment (PSE), and features autodetectionof powered devices (PDs).
Transmissiondistances of up to 330 feet (100 meters) aresupported, and this injector supplies operating powerfor all PDs drawing a maximum of 15.4 watts.
The unitprovides AC line and powered device over-voltage andshort circuit protection.
Ideally suited to fiber optic,wireless, or other networks where it may be difficultto furnish operating power to the PDs, the CWPOEIPSis a t rue plug-and-play product requiring no userconfiguration or other set-up.
The unit is designed fordeployment in benign/conditioned 0 to +45 degree Coperating environments.
